Construction goes digital
Construction companies are going digital, helping to boost productivity in the sector after years of stagnation. At the same time, however, investment in machinery remains subdued. Could robotics and 3D printing offer a solution?

The construction sector is not known for being extremely innovative: bricklaying is often performed in the same way it was hundreds of years ago.
But in recent years, construction companies have been catching up in terms of digitalisation. This is important in a sector where every project often has to be designed from scratch.
At the same time though, industrialisation has been slow to take off, with many firms reluctant to invest in machinery.
